Spotlight on the two eliminative giants the ‘Lymphatic system’ and the ‘Bowel’ to support efficient detoxification.
Join Karen as she discusses the lymphatic system in more detail and shares how you can best support its function through lifestyle, diet and supplement interventions.
Our lymphatic system is so often overlooked when it comes to detoxification, yet it plays a key role in removal of wastes from our cells as well as our immune system function. When focusing on detoxification we must first open up the pathways of elimination for wastes and toxins to have a route to the outside. When the eliminative giants the bowel and the lymph are sluggish or backed up then you will more likely experience uncomfortable ‘detox’ symptoms such as:
- Headaches.
- Insomnia or extreme tiredness
- Bloating
- Constipation
- Skin outbreaks
- Joint pains
- Frequent sore throats
- Mucous production
- Low immunity
- Breast tenderness and swelling…..and much more.
Stage one of the detoxification processes is the waste removal from the cell which is an important energy-requiring process, the individual cells require nutrients, oxygen and energy to efficiently eliminate its wastes effectively. The lymphathic system plays a major role in the elimination process at the cellular level, when our lymphatic system is sluggish or overloaded, the small lymph capillaries will be less efficient at draining these acidic cellular wastes away to be removed by the body.
A sluggish bowel is common today, its strength and fortitude have been influenced by past/current lifestyles, diet, medications and stress. If we do not eliminate well, our lymph flow is effected along with digestive wastes sitting too long creating bacterial overgrowth, gas, bloating and can lead to inflammation and chronic bowel diseases.
